Project 1999 Official Servers
- Blue
- Blue Server is a non-PvP server which contains EverQuest content from the classic era (when the game was first released) through the Velious expansion, and including all patches after that expansion up until (but not including) the Shadows of Luclin expansion. Someday after the Green Server is released Blue might gain custom content from Project 1999's developers, but currently it strives to imitate classic EverQuest as closely as possible.
In some ways Blue is the 'Beta' server, where the Project 1999 developers tested their classic EverQuest code for the Green Server.

- Red
- Red Server is Project 1999's far less popular PvP server, usually with less than a hundred players even at peak times. This server has its own unique PvP rules which is not the same as any of the classic 'Zek' servers, but is inspired by their rules. Like Blue Red contains EverQuest content from the classic era (when the game was first released) through the Velious expansion, and including all patches after that expansion up until (but not including) the Shadows of Luclin expansion.
- Green
- Green Server is Project 1999's newest and most popular server with over one thousand players online at peak times (and frequently even at off-peak times) starting over from Vanilla and following the classic timeline.

Everquest Server Downtime
- Discord
- A new 'Discord' PvP server was announced, and highly anticipated by Project 1999 PvP players. However, before it was released (or possibly after being released for only a short period of time?) the server project appears to have been shelved. It is unknown when (if ever) it will be released.
NOTE: This author didn't know the details of what the Discord server would actually be about (eg. what PvP rules it would have). Please feel free to edit this entry and add further details about the server if you know them.

Everquest Server Population
Several other EQEmulator servers exist with varying popularity, such as:
- The Al'Kabor Project
- An emulation of Everquest's Al'Kabor server, which was historically exclusive to Mac users but is now available to Mac, PC and Linux in this unofficial iteration. Locked to Planes of Power expansion. [1]
- PEQ The Grand Creation
- Omens of War expansion server. Boxxing allowed. [2]
- EZ Server
- Custom Zones, Vendors, Quests, Items, etc. [3]
- The Hidden Forest
- The Hidden Forest is a quality custom server. Experience a whole new level of imaginative lore, tailor-made quests, new creatures, advanced spells, custom zones, and an arsenal full of more than 2500 specialized items. Prepare yourself to become entangled in the war between Chaos and Order as you progress through this extraordinary journey! [4]
- Dragon Soul
- A Chinese language server. [5]
- Enine's ProFusion
- Wanting to create a easy to jump in and understand custom setup that is still very loyal to traditional EQ and lets you level through 70 while re-living some of the exciting items and zones that you likely spent a ton of time in. Fun drops that should lead to high levels of HP, damage, etc. It's not meant to be difficult but also not supposed to be a cakewalk! You can solo your way to 70 and get well equipped but you will likely want to duo or find help to progress through some of the tiers. [6]
